About us

Comfort is our name.
Service is our work.

راحت Rahat is the Urdu word for comfort, ease and relief. It is the promise we make to every family we serve in Zaida and across District Swabi.

Our story

Neighbours first.
An organisation second.

Rahat Foundation grew out of something simple: people in Zaida looking after the street they live on. What began as informal help between neighbours — a meal here, school fees there — became an organised effort to reach every deserving household in our community.

Today we are the trusted on-the-ground partner of Truman Foundation, a registered Canadian charity. Truman raises support among Canadians; we turn that support into meals, water pumps, classrooms, clinics and livelihoods here in Swabi — and report every outcome back.

Because our volunteers serve the streets they grew up on, nothing is anonymous. We know which widow's roof leaks, which student walked to their exam without breakfast, and which village well ran dry. That knowledge is our greatest asset — it means relief is fast, fair and dignified.

What guides us

Four values, held tightly.

Dignity first

Help is given quietly, respectfully, and at the doorstep — never in a way that shames the receiver.

Amanah — trust

Every gift is a sacred trust. Funds are spent exactly as designated, and records are kept for every rupee.

Local roots

We are not visitors. We serve the community we were raised in, and we will still be here next year.

Full transparency

Photos, receipts and field reports flow back to Truman Foundation and its donors after every distribution.

How we work

Verified needs.
Hand-delivered relief.

No middlemen, no guesswork. Our process is built on presence — being physically in the community every single day.

  1. A need is identified

A family applies, or a neighbour, imam or teacher quietly refers them. Nothing is processed from behind a desk.

  2. Volunteers verify door-to-door

Our team visits the home, confirms the circumstances with dignity, and records what kind of help will actually change things.

  3. The program is delivered

Rations, pumps, fees, treatment or seed grants — delivered in person by volunteers, usually within days, not months.

  4. Outcomes are reported back

Photos, receipts and beneficiary records are shared with Truman Foundation, closing the loop between donor and doorstep.

A partnership across continents

Hands in Canada. Feet on the ground in Zaida.

Truman Foundation and Rahat Foundation run the same nine programs as one team — Canadian generosity, delivered with Swabi's local knowledge.
